Week 2 - Zamzar

Well, I think in theory it should be easy to use this website - my colleagues seem to have had few problems getting it to work. And they have shown me how to do it and it seems im doing it right. Or maybe im just impatient as my workmate has just informed me it takes a little bit of time to receive the emails. My bad. I kinda thought it would be instantaneous (I think thats the 'I want it now' generation mentality coming out in me. I think I'll have to try it out on the learn net computers when I get a chance because its not working for me yet. Do I think customers will find it simple? Once they've been shown - yes - but then only some. And unless you already have a general understanding what the difference is between a doc. and pdf. is, it could seem a bit difficult. Is it easy for staff to use? Of course, we are all brilliant. Could we use this in the learn.nets and in our workrooms? Sure why not. I do think that I'll use this site again. Would I promote this site to customers? Its hard to say - its taken me maybe fifteen minutes to write this paragraph and still no email - tricky to manage as there are time constraints out on the learn net floor. Oh well will keep you posted if I get it to work.....

  1. Hey hey - the beauty of Zamzar is that if you catch it at the right time (usually early in morn or late afternoon to evening) it's instantaneous. The beast of Zamzar is that if you catch it at the WRONG time, like I have once or twice, it's a fair wait. Once I waited 2 hours :( You've written a really honest post about your team's experience of trying to convert a file. Congratulations! you've completed week 3 :)
